What Magento is

Magento — sold commercially as Adobe Commerce and available as Magento Open Source — is an ecommerce platform for stores that have outgrown a simple cart. It handles very large catalogues, multiple storefronts, websites and currencies from one installation, and its pricing, promotion and tax rules go far deeper than most platforms allow.
