Pre-sales

Ask Zinn®

A straight answer about hosting, plans, limits and prices — from our knowledge base and today's price list, not from a sales script. No account, and nothing you type is stored.

Not sure what to ask? Try one of these

Answers are built from our published knowledge base and the live price list, so a figure it quotes is a figure we charge. It cannot see your account, your sites or your invoices — for those, sign in and use the assistant in your dashboard.

What it can answer

It is built from two things and only two: our published knowledge base, and the price list our billing engine charges from, read at the moment you ask. That is narrow on purpose — it is why a figure it quotes is a figure we charge.

  • Which plan fits

Tell it how many sites you have and what they run, and it will name a plan and say why — including when a cheaper one is enough.

  • What something costs

Monthly and yearly prices for any plan we sell, in the currency you are browsing in, from the live catalogue rather than a page somebody remembered to update.

  • What a plan includes

Sites, disk, staging, backups, email boxes — the entitlements themselves, not a marketing summary of them.

  • Whether we do a thing at all

Every product line we sell is in front of it, so “do you do LMS hosting?” has a true answer even for a line you had not heard of.

  • How something works

Migrations, DNS, backups, caching, WordPress management — from the same knowledge-base articles a customer reads, with a link to the one it used.

  • What it will not do

Guess. If the answer is not in what it was given, it says so and points you at a person — which is the whole reason it is safe to ask it about money.

What it cannot see, and why that is deliberate

It has no access to accounts, sites, invoices or tickets, and there is no identifier for one anywhere on this page. That is a design decision rather than a limitation we have not got to yet: this assistant answers anyone on the internet, so anything it could read about an account is something a stranger could read about yours. The assistant inside your dashboard is the one that sees your estate, and it is behind a login for the same reason.

About Ask Zinn®

Do I need an account?

No, and there is nothing to sign up for. Nothing you type is stored either — there is no account to attach a conversation to and no reason to keep one.

Is it going to try to sell me the expensive plan?

It is told to help you choose, and where two plans could fit it says which it would pick and why. Our own product pages say when a cheaper option is the right one; the assistant reads the same material.

How current are the prices?

They are read from the billing catalogue at the moment you ask, so they are the prices the engine would charge you today. Nothing about the answer is cached.

What if it gets something wrong?

Tell us and we will fix the underlying article, because a wrong answer here means a wrong article. It cannot commit us to anything — a price, a refund, a deadline — and it is told to say so rather than promise.

Already a customer?

The assistant in your dashboard can see your sites, your plan and your tickets. This one deliberately cannot.
