Moodle hosting
Take a managed Moodle plan and the site you create installs the current stable Moodle release for you, with course files kept outside the web root and Moodle's scheduled tasks already running. Prefer a general plan? Moodle is one click on our shared Linux platform, or take a cloud server of your own and install it yourself.
Choose the data centre your site lives in: Helsinki, Finland (European Union), Singapore, Ashburn, eastern United States, and Hillsboro, western United States.
There is no budget tier and no premium tier. Every site we host runs on the same stack, on servers we own and operate, whichever plan you choose.
LiteSpeed Partner Zinn Digital® is an official LiteSpeed Partner. Every site we host runs on licensed LiteSpeed Enterprise with the LSCache plugin — the fastest way to serve WordPress and WooCommerce — tuned, licensed and kept up to date by us, never the free build.
Every plan runs on hardware we own and operate, not on capacity rented from another host. When you report a problem, nobody stands between us and the fix.
A full LiteSpeed Enterprise licence on every server, with LSCache page caching built in, so your pages are served fast without extra plugins or setup.
Each site runs in its own container with its own CPU, memory and I/O limits, so a busy or compromised neighbour cannot slow it down or reach its files.
Server-side page and object caching that we run and tune ourselves, with one-click purge from your dashboard or from inside WordPress.
Daily backups of every site, kept for 30 days and restorable one site at a time in a single click.
We watch every server and every site ourselves, day and night, and act on a problem as soon as it appears.
Moodle is an open-source learning platform for running courses online: course pages, quizzes, assignments, forums, a gradebook and reports on who completed what. It is a full application with its own database and its own file store, not a plugin for a website, which is why it needs hosting that is set up for it rather than for a brochure site.
Moodle is used by schools, universities and corporate training teams that run structured courses with cohorts, grading and completion tracking. It is open source, so there is no per-learner licence fee, and its plugin directory covers most of what a teaching team asks for. If your staff already know Moodle, hosting it well is usually the shortest route to a working course site.
Three rungs of one product, not three products. The managed Moodle plan comes first; underneath it are the Linux platform plans, which install Moodle in one click, and the cloud servers, monthly or yearly, with any yearly saving shown on each one.
| Option | Best for | Installation | What you control | From, per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Managed application plan | Getting a real site live today, with the least to set up | Already installed when your account opens | Your site and its content — we run the server, the updates and the backups | $14.99 |
| Linux platform plan | The cheapest entry, and for running more than one kind of thing | One click from your dashboard, whenever you want it | Your sites, your PHP settings and your databases — we run the server | $2.99 |
| Cloud server | Traffic, memory or software the shared platform will not give you | You install it — the machine is built to the stack profile you choose | The whole machine, with root — we run the hardware and the network, and daily backups are there when you want them | $11.99 |
Moodle is installed and running when your account opens, on our shared platform. We look after the server, the updates and the backups; you look after the site. Every plan here includes the whole feature set below.

Cheap hosting is usually cheap once. The industry sells a low first term paid years in advance and then renews at several times the price you signed up at. We do not do that, and here is the arithmetic beside three hosts that do.
| Host | What you pay up front for the advertised price | What the price does on renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Zinn Digital® | Nothing — pay monthly, or pay for a year up front and save. Every plan shows both prices before you buy. | Nothing. The price you see is the price you renew at |
| SiteGround | 12 months, in advance | Multiplies by 5.3 |
| Hostinger | 48 months, in advance | Multiplies by 3.6 |
| Bluehost | 36 months, in advance | Multiplies by 2.5 |
Read from each host's own pricing page on 2026-09-08. Their prices are theirs and they change; the multiple is the renewal price they publish divided by the price they advertise beside it.
Every plan comes with it. There is no support tier to buy, no per-incident charge and no ticket allowance — and the desk is open 24 hours a day.
Support is part of hosting, not an upsell. It is the same support on the smallest plan as on the largest, and nothing about it is counted or capped per incident.
Whatever hour you are working and whatever time zone you are in, the desk is staffed. You are not writing into an inbox that opens in the morning.
Write your ticket in the language you actually think in — we translate it for our team and answer you in yours, with the original always one click away. We sell in all 58.
Our assistant answers instantly from the knowledge base, but it never closes a ticket for you. A ticket is picked up and answered by somebody who can act on it.
Advertising your site? Every Zinn® hosting plan includes the Zinn® Ads click shield, running on the server with nothing to install: it spots bots and repeat clickers on your ads and keeps them away. Pair it with Zinn® Ads, multi-channel PPC automation that audits your ad accounts every day and runs fully automatic or asks you first.
A managed cloud server can be built in any of these regions. Choose the one closest to the people you serve, or the one your data needs to stay in.
Our servers in Finland and Germany run on renewable electricity — sourced that way, not offset after the fact. For our United States and Singapore locations we have not verified the supply, so we do not claim it.
The pages people usually read after this one — the platform underneath, the rest of the range, and the help you get once you are here.
On the managed Moodle plan, yes. When you create your site, Moodle is already selected and the installer puts the current stable release on it. On a Linux platform plan it is one click from your dashboard, whenever you want it. On a cloud server you get a clean machine with root access, and you install Moodle the way you want it.
The newest stable release that runs on the server's database. The installer reads it from Moodle's own release page when your site is built, so the version is never a number we typed once and forgot. After that, upgrades are in your hands, the way Moodle's administrators expect.
In Moodle's data directory, which we create outside the website's public folder. Moodle serves those files through its own access checks, so a student only gets the files their course allows. The site itself is served from Moodle's public folder, as recent Moodle releases require.
Choose here if you want Moodle on its own plan. Our LMS hosting line is built for course sites and lets you choose WordPress with Tutor LMS or Moodle at checkout, with storage sized for course video. Both run Moodle the same way, so pick the plan whose storage and limits suit your courses.
Yes. On paid plans AI Move does it for you, overseen by our migration team, and you can always do it yourself. A Moodle move is the database and the data directory together, because a move that copies the courses but loses who completed what is not a move.
Yes. Every plan on this page is sold monthly or yearly, and each plan shows both prices with any saving worked out for you. You can start monthly and switch later.
Step-by-step guides from our knowledge base, written for exactly this.
Sell Zinn® hosting from HostBill, Blesta or your own system: the free HostBill module, the single-file PHP client, the two rules that cost money when they are broken, and the two request fields that are easy to leave out.
Read the guide →Every shared plan begins with a free trial and is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee, and the price you sign up at is the price you renew at. If you would rather ask somebody first, the people who answer are the people who run the platform.
