A free global CDN tier on every plan — switch it on in one click

Every plan includes a free global CDN tier at no extra cost, so your pages can be served from an edge close to your visitors — no separate account to open. On Mainstream hosting it is your call: a new site starts with the CDN off and you switch it on — free, premium, or your own account — from that site's CDN tab. On the Footprint-Free line there is nothing to switch: the CDN is native and always on, balanced across a multi-provider pool.

One free tier, then upgrade only if you want to

The free tier is not an add-on you have to buy — it is on every plan at no extra cost. On Mainstream hosting it does need switching on: a new site starts with the CDN off, so nothing changes at your edge until you choose it. The paid tiers exist for the sites that outgrow the free one.

Free tier — included, opt-in

Static assets and cacheable pages served from a global edge at no extra cost. It is on every plan; on Mainstream hosting you switch it on per site from the CDN tab.

Premium tier — paid

More cache capacity plus image optimisation through the premium AccelerateWP layer, priced per site for the sites where delivery speed is the product.

Managed upgrades — paid

Where you want a specific managed configuration — a Cloudflare Pro or Argo-backed setup, for example — we run it for you behind the same site CDN tab.

Bring your own — both lines

Connect a Cloudflare, bunny.net, CDN77, KeyCDN, Fastly, Gcore, CloudFront or Akamai account you already pay for and we drive it, or use passthrough so any other CDN works even if we have not integrated it.

Footprint-Free line

CDN-native, with no shared fingerprint

The Footprint-Free line does not put every site behind one CDN account. Sites are balanced across a pool of providers, so the network as a whole has no single, shared edge fingerprint.

Origin IPs stay hidden behind the edge, and you can bring your own accounts to widen the pool further — all under the same rule that origin records can never be changed.

  • Balanced across a multi-provider CDN pool
  • Origin IPs hidden behind the edge
  • Your own accounts join the pool too
Footprint-Free hosting
Sites distributed across a spread of edge nodes in different regions.

FAQ

Is the CDN really free?

The free tier is, yes — every plan includes it at no extra cost. It is not switched on for you, though. On Mainstream hosting a new site starts with the CDN off, and you turn it on from that site's CDN tab; it takes one click and costs nothing. Footprint-Free sites are CDN-native and arrive with the edge already on. Paid tiers are optional upgrades on top.

What do the paid tiers add?

More cache capacity, image optimisation via the premium AccelerateWP layer, and managed upgrades such as a Cloudflare Pro or Argo-backed configuration where you want the extra control. You pick the tier per site, from that site's CDN tab.

Can I bring my own CDN account?

Yes. Connect a Cloudflare, bunny.net, CDN77, KeyCDN, Fastly, Gcore, Amazon CloudFront or Akamai account you already pay for and we drive it for your sites — validated on entry, stored in Vault, and managed from the dashboard and MCP. For anything else, passthrough points your domain at your edge so any CDN works.

How is the CDN different on Footprint-Free hosting?

The Footprint-Free line is CDN-native: sites are balanced across a pool of CDN providers so the network has no single, shared fingerprint, origin IPs stay hidden behind the edge, and the tier is not yours to change — it is footprint machinery, not a setting. Mainstream hosting is the opposite: a site starts with the CDN off and you choose the free, premium or bring-your-own tier yourself.

Do I have to manage cache purging myself?

No. For the tiers and accounts we drive, purge is a button on the site's CDN tab and happens automatically when you publish. With passthrough BYO, you manage purge and SSL in your own provider's panel.
