Each chunk retains its source, page and section records. Search merges dense embeddings for conceptual matches with keyword search for exact identifiers such as names, part numbers and clause numbers that embeddings often miss.
The agent is instructed to answer strictly from retrieved data and reference those passages. If nothing relevant meets a confidence threshold, it states it cannot answer and can offer a handoff. This behavior is adjustable, remaining the default to prevent expensive errors.
