Zinn® SEO how-to: Give a colleague SEO access and Copy your SEO settings to another site

Step by step in Zinn® SEO: Let someone look after your SEO without making them an administrator.

Give a colleague SEO access

Let someone look after your SEO without making them an administrator.

  1. Open Roles — Go to SEO, Roles. Zinn® SEO adds two roles: SEO Manager and SEO Editor.
  2. Pick the right role — An SEO Manager can change the SEO settings of the whole site. An SEO Editor can only edit the SEO details of pages.
  3. Give the role to a user — In WordPress go to Users, edit the person and choose the role.
  4. Pro: fine control — With Pro you can give any role exactly the SEO permissions it needs.

Copy your SEO settings to another site

Set one site up the way you like it, then use the same settings on your other sites.

  1. Open Export / import settings — Go to SEO and, under Settings and tools, open Export / import settings. The same panel is also on the Tools screen.
  2. Download your settings — Press Download settings. You get a small file with your site-wide SEO settings: title and description templates, structured data and your organisation, sitemaps, robots rules, social sharing, breadcrumbs and which modules are on. API keys, connections and anything secret are never in it.
  3. Import them on the other site — On the other site open the same screen and choose Import a settings file. On a new site you can also do it in the first step of the guided setup: Start from another site's settings. The old site's address inside a setting becomes the new site's address.
  4. Check before you apply — You see every setting that would change before anything is applied. Each page's own SEO moves with the spreadsheet export in the Bulk editor, and redirects with the import and export under Redirects and 404.
