Page Builder Sandwich theme builder: headers, footers and page templates

Design your header, footer, single, archive, search and 404 templates with blocks and choose exactly where each one shows, with the same rules for any single block.

Page Builder Sandwich Pro designs your theme's header, footer, single post or page, archive, search results and "page not found" (404) pages with blocks, and decides where each one shows. With WooCommerce active it adds the shop and product page types too.

Make a template

  1. In wp-admin open Page Builder Sandwich → Theme builder.
  2. Choose the template type (for example Header or Single post or page). Press **Start from
  3. a ready-made design** to begin from a working starter, so a new product page template is already a product page.

  4. Design it in the block editor like any page, then publish it.

Choose where it shows

In the template's settings, Show it on lists where it appears and But not on lists the exceptions (Add exception). With no conditions it shows everywhere its type applies. The conditions you can use:

  • Entire site, Front page, Post type, Specific posts or pages, **In a category or
  • tag, Archive, Search results, Page not found (404)**

  • Logged in or out and User role
  • Device (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • Date range and Time of day
  • URL parameter, Referrer, Language and Cart contents

When more than one template matches a page, the one with the highest Priority (0 to 100) wins; on a tie, the most specific condition wins, then the newest template.

The same rules on any block

Select any block and open Display conditions in its settings. Under Show this block when choose All conditions are met or Any condition is met, then add conditions from the same list. A block whose conditions do not pass prints nothing.

Conditions and page caching

A Device condition works with page caching: every visitor gets the same cached page, and a small stylesheet hides the block on the other devices. Conditions that depend on the visitor rather than the address (Logged in or out, User role, Date range, Time of day, URL parameter, Referrer, Cart contents) mark that page as not cacheable, because two visitors of the same address can see different things. Caching plugins, including Zinn® Cache, respect this.
