Page Builder Sandwich dynamic content and the Query loop block

Fill blocks from the post, author, site or a custom field, and list posts, products, users, terms or field rows with a card you design once and live filters.

Page Builder Sandwich Pro fills blocks from your content instead of typed-in text: a heading that shows the post title, an image that shows the featured image, a button that links to the author's page, or a value from a custom field.

Fill a block from your content

  1. Select a paragraph, heading, image or button (or one of Page Builder Sandwich's own text and link
  2. blocks).

  3. In the block settings open Dynamic content.
  4. Under Fill "…" from choose where the value comes from, or Nothing (typed in) to go back
  5. to your own text.

The sources:

  • Post: title, excerpt, date, last updated, address, featured image and its alt text, number of
  • comments, post type

  • Author: name, bio, website, avatar, the author's posts page
  • Site: title, tagline, address, the current year
  • Archive: the category, tag or archive page's title, description and address
  • Custom field: a field from ACF, Meta Box, Pods, JetEngine, Toolset or plain post meta. Choose
  • the Field plugin and the Field key.

Fields whose key starts with an underscore are WordPress's private data and are never shown.

The Query loop block

The Query loop block lists posts, pages, products, authors, categories or tags, or the rows of a repeater, gallery or relationship field. You design one card with blocks; the loop repeats it for every item, and blocks inside the card that use Dynamic content show that item's own values.

  • What to list and Order: by date, title, last updated, page order, most comments, random, a
  • custom field, price or rating for products, or name and number of posts for authors and terms.

  • Layout and pages: a grid or a list, the number of columns, and page numbers.
  • Filters: add a search box, a category, tag or taxonomy, a custom field, a sort order and, for
  • products, a price range, on sale and in stock. Filtering updates the results in place without reloading the page, and every filtered view also has its own address that works without JavaScript.

A loop only lists published content that visitors can already see, and only the filters you added can be used. A page of results shows at most 100 items.
