Moving your shop from Shopify, Wix or another platform
What we move, what we cannot move, what it costs, and how long the shop keeps selling while we do it.
This is different from moving a WordPress site to us. A shop on Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, BigCommerce or Magento is not a folder of files we can copy — it is a database on somebody else's platform — so we rebuild it as a WooCommerce shop and move the contents across.
Sites → Move a store to us asks four things: where the shop is now, what you want it to become, roughly how big it is, and where it should land. You get a quote before anything happens.
What comes across
- Products, with their variants, prices, images, descriptions and stock levels.
- Categories and collections.
- Customers, with their addresses and order history.
- Orders, so your reporting does not start from zero.
- Pages and blog posts.
What does not, and why
- Passwords. No platform exports them and none should. Your customers set a new one on
- Apps and plugins specific to the old platform. Their equivalents exist for WooCommerce
- Your theme. A Shopify theme is Shopify code. The quote covers rebuilding the look, or
- Live payment configuration. You connect your gateway on the new shop; we never move
first sign-in, and we can send that email for you when you go live.
and we tell you which ones you will need in the quote.
starting from a WooCommerce theme, whichever you choose.
payment credentials between platforms.
Your shop keeps selling throughout
The move happens onto a new site with a temporary address while your existing shop stays live and taking orders. Nothing changes for your customers until you point the domain, which is the last step and takes minutes.
⭐ Orders placed during the move are caught up before you switch. Tell us the cut-over day and we re-sync anything that arrived while the build was going on, so nothing is lost between the export and the switch.
How long, and how much
The quote gives both, and it is based on the number of items rather than a guess — which is why the form asks. A small shop is usually days; a large catalogue with a lot of custom work is longer. You approve the quote before we start.
After you go live
Set up redirects from the old URLs. The quote includes them: a shop that changes platform without redirects loses its search rankings, and that is the single most expensive mistake in a migration.
