Migrating a site from DirectAdmin

Sign in with your normal DirectAdmin login and we copy files, databases and email.

Where to start

Open Migrations in the menu and press Migrate a site here — that creates the site and starts the move in one go. For a site you have already created, open it and go to Restore & import → Migrate from another host.

Type your old host's server address and press Check my current host. We work out what it is running and fill the form in, so you are only asked for the login that will actually work.

What you need

The DirectAdmin username and password for your account (or an API token). Nothing is installed on the old server.

What moves

Files and databases are read through DirectAdmin itself. Mailboxes come across if you leave Bring my email across as well ticked, finished with Run mail cutover.

If the login is refused

Some hosts turn off API access for customer logins. If the check says it cannot sign in with a login you know is right, try SSH or FTP from the same form, or ask us to do it for you.

It is free, and there is no limit

Every migration is free, on every plan, for as many sites as you have. Doing it yourself is the fastest way. If you would rather we did it, open the site, go to Restore & import, and use Or have us do it for you — free: an engineer starts within 72 hours, and that is free too. See Asking us to migrate a site for you.
