What the Verified badge on a marketplace listing means

Which figures we read ourselves from the seller's Stripe or Google Analytics to earn the Verified badge, what does not count, how long a reading lasts and how sellers get it.

Some listings on the marketplace carry a Verified badge. It means Zinn Digital® read the listing's figures ourselves, straight from the seller's own account, instead of taking the seller's word for them.

What earns the badge

A listing is Verified when we have at least one recent reading of our own:

  • Payouts from Stripe. The seller gives us a read-only Stripe key for one request. We read
  • the payouts Stripe sent to the business's bank in the last 12 months and show the total and the monthly average. The key is not kept.

  • Visitors from Google Analytics. The seller connects the site's Google Analytics 4
  • property. We read sessions and users for the last 30 and 90 days, and refresh them every week.

Next to the badge you see which reading it rests on and the date we took it.

What does not earn it

  • Figures the seller typed into the listing.
  • Files the seller uploaded, such as an Amazon seller report. Those figures are still shown on the
  • listing, marked as taken from the seller's report, but they do not make the listing Verified.

  • A reading that is too old. Each reading counts for a set number of days (90 by default). After
  • that the badge disappears until the seller connects again or the weekly refresh runs.

What the badge does not mean

The badge tells you where a number came from and when. It is not a valuation, a recommendation or a guarantee that the business will keep earning or keep its visitors. Read the listing, ask the seller questions, and use the data room and offers before you decide.

For sellers: how to get it

  1. Open Marketplace, then Sell, and open your listing.
  2. Use Verify revenue with Stripe (paste a restricted, read-only key) or **Connect Google
  3. Analytics**, or both.

  4. Keep Google Analytics connected so the weekly refresh keeps the badge current. Verify Stripe
  5. again before the reading gets too old.

Verified listings also rank higher in marketplace search results, so buyers find them first. Verification is optional, and it never costs anything.
