Free help from our deal desk on business deals of US$100,000 or more

When an offer on a business for sale reaches US$100,000, our deal desk helps both sides with that deal free of charge: what it does, what you see and how to reach it.

When an offer on a business for sale reaches US$100,000 or more, our deal desk helps both sides with that deal, free of charge. A member of our marketplace team follows the deal through to completion and is there to answer questions from the seller and the buyer.

When a deal qualifies

  • A deal qualifies as soon as an offer or counter-offer on it reaches US$100,000. For a listing
  • priced in another currency we compare the offer with US$100,000 at the marketplace exchange rate on the day the offer is made.

  • Each negotiation between one buyer and one seller is one deal. If several buyers make large
  • offers on the same business, each of those deals gets the help.

  • If a later counter-offer goes below US$100,000, the help carries on: our team decides when a
  • deal is finished, not the latest number.

  • The help is being switched on step by step, so you may not see it on every deal yet.

What you see

On the Offers card of a qualifying deal (for buyers on the listing, for sellers under Marketplace, then Sell), a note says that our deal desk is helping with this deal. Nothing changes in how offers work: you still make, counter, accept or decline offers yourself, and an accepted offer still gives you both a letter of intent.

What the deal desk does

  • Answers questions about the marketplace's steps: the NDA, the data room, offers and the letter
  • of intent.

  • Helps both sides keep the deal moving and points out what is still missing, such as documents
  • the buyer has asked for.

  • Never asks for your passwords: anything that moves between you happens in your own accounts.

Our team keeps internal notes and a stage for each deal so that whoever helps you knows where it stands. Those notes are for our staff only; you do not see them, and neither does the other side.

What it does not do

The deal desk does not negotiate the price for you, does not value the business for you and does not give legal, tax or financial advice. Take professional advice where the amount matters to you.

How to reach the deal desk

Open a support ticket from the app and mention the listing. Our team may also contact you about a qualifying deal.
