How to watch what Google's first page shows for your brand

Brand page 1 checks what people see when they search your name, reads each result for tone, and e-mails you when a new negative result reaches the first page.

People search a business's name before they buy from it, and they read the first page of results before anything you say about yourself. One new complaint thread, scam warning or bad review site on that page costs you customers until somebody notices. Brand page 1 notices.

What it does

  • Every week it reads Google's first page for your brand, and for up to four variations you
  • choose - a product, a shop name, the owner's name.

  • Every result it has not seen before is read for tone: negative, neutral or
  • positive, with a one-line reason.

  • When a new negative result appears, you get an e-mail with the page's title and address.

The first check shows what is already there, including anything negative, but it does not send an alert - those results are not new. From the next check on, you hear about each new one.

Switch it on

  1. Open Brand page 1 in the dashboard.
  2. Choose the domain, or add one with your brand name.
  3. Read the price - it is shown per search checked, and for a month of weekly checks.
  4. Press Start watching page 1.

The first check runs within the hour. You can also press Check now at any time.

What it costs

Brand page 1 is paid per check from your Zinn® credits. Each search checked once is one check, so five searches checked weekly is about 22 checks a month. The screen shows the exact price before you switch it on, and that is what each check takes from your balance.

If your credits run out, checks pause rather than fail. Top up and they start again by themselves

  • nothing is lost. A search the data provider could not answer is not charged.

Results marked "Not read yet"

If a result could not be read for tone, it is shown as Not read yet, never as neutral, and it is read again on the next check.

What to do about a negative result

Answer a complaint where it was posted, ask the site to correct a mistake, and publish something better - a reviews page, a case study, a press page - that can push it down the first page.
