Transferring a domain to us

Moving a domain here does not move your website and does not interrupt it. The domain's DNS keeps answering exactly as it does now throughout.

At your current registrar, before you start

1. Unlock the domain. It is usually a switch called "transfer lock" or "registrar lock".
2. Get the authorisation code — also called an EPP code or auth code. It is emailed to

you or shown in the panel.

3. Check the admin contact email, because the confirmation goes there.

⚠️ A domain cannot be transferred in the first 60 days after it was registered or last transferred. That is a registry rule and nobody can waive it.

Here

Domains → Transfer in, enter the domain and the authorisation code, and pay for the transfer. The transfer includes one year of renewal, added to your existing expiry date — you do not lose the time you have already paid for.

How long it takes

Most transfers complete within a few hours once you approve the confirmation email. The registry allows up to five days, and a losing registrar that does nothing will let it run the full five.

While it runs

Nothing changes. Your nameservers, your DNS records and your site are untouched. When it completes you can point the domain at a site here from Domains → your domain → DNS.
