A public status page answers the question your visitors ask when something looks wrong: is it just me? It shows each monitor you choose, whether it is up now, its uptime over the last 90 days, and every incident, in the visitor's own language.
What you need first
The page shows your uptime monitors, so add the addresses you want to show on the Uptime & speed screen first. Visitors see each monitor's name, never its address, so name them the way a visitor would recognise them - Shop, Checkout, Blog.
Create the page
- Open Public status page in the dashboard.
- Type a title, for example Acme Shop status, and press Create a status page.
- Tick the monitors to show, and save.
The page is live straight away at its Zinn® address, shown under Where visitors find it.
Make it yours
- Logo and favicon - upload a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF up to 256 KB. The favicon is the small
icon in the browser tab. SVG is not accepted, because an SVG file can carry scripts.
- Colours - the header colour, the background and the text, and the background and text used
in dark mode. We check every pair is easy to read before we save it, and tell you which pair to change if it is not.
- Light or dark - follow the visitor's device, or always light, or always dark.
- Time zone - the times on the page are shown in it.
- Language - the page speaks the visitor's language when we have it, and falls back to the
one you choose.
Use your own address
You can serve the page at an address on your own domain, such as status.yoursite.com, while your account is in good standing.
- Type the address under Your own address and press Use this address.
- Add the DNS records shown to your domain at your DNS provider - usually one CNAME record and
one or two records that prove the domain is yours.
- Press Check again after a few minutes. When it says Live at your address, the page is
served there over a secure connection.
Nothing on the page names us: no logo, no link, no "powered by".
If the page shows old information
The page is kept close to your visitors and refreshed every minute. If our service cannot be reached for a moment, the page keeps showing the last status it had and says so, rather than going blank.
