How upgrades and downgrades are billed
Upgrades apply at once and are charged for the remaining period. Downgrades apply at renewal.
Upgrading
An upgrade takes effect the moment you confirm it. You are charged the difference between the two plans for the days left in the current period, not a fresh full month — so upgrading on the 25th costs a few days, not thirty.
Your new limits are live immediately. There is no re-provisioning and no downtime.
Downgrading
A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal, and you keep everything you have paid for until then. We do this rather than refunding the difference because a downgrade usually means reducing limits, and applying that instantly can break a site that is currently using them.
Before a downgrade lands, check what you are using against the new plan's limits in Billing → Plan. If you are over one of them at renewal, we email you first — nothing is deleted without warning.
Cancelling
A cancellation is a downgrade to nothing: you keep the service to the end of the period you have paid for. Your data stays available for the retention window shown on the cancellation screen, so a change of mind does not cost you the site.
