How extra storage works

Storage upgrades are available on all plans: add 10 GB, 50 GB or 100 GB to a website from $3.99 a month, billed with your plan and removable any time it fits without it.

Storage upgrades are available on all plans. Every website we host has its own disk space and file allowance from its plan. When a website needs more, add an extra storage pack to it — without changing your plan.

PackFilesPrice
10 GB100,000 more files$3.99 a month
50 GB500,000 more files$14.99 a month
100 GB1,000,000 more files$24.99 a month

Prices are in US dollars; the checkout shows the price in your currency, plus any tax. Each pack adds 10,000 files for every GB, so a site full of small images does not run out of files before it runs out of space. Packs stack: two 10 GB packs give the website 20 GB more.

How to add storage

  1. Open Sites, choose the website, then open its Plan tab.
  2. In the Storage card, choose a pack and press Add. You pay in the same window.
  3. The website's allowance goes up on its server straight away.

What you pay

The first payment covers the rest of your current billing month, so you only pay for the days you use. After that the pack renews at its full monthly price on the same day as your plan, on the same invoice.

Is a bigger plan better value?

Sometimes. When a plan upgrade gives the website the same space for the same money or less, the Storage card shows that plan first, so you can compare before you buy.

Removing a pack

Press Remove beside the pack. You can remove one whenever the website fits without it; if it would not, the card tells you how much to free up first. A removed pack stops renewing and keeps working until the end of the month you paid for. Nothing is refunded and no files are touched.

If a pack ends while the space is still in use

If a pack ends — removed, unpaid or refunded — while the website still uses more than its plan includes, nothing is deleted and nothing stops. We tell you in your dashboard and by email, and the website keeps its space for 3 days while you add space again or free some up. After that, new files and uploads will not save until the website fits; everything already there keeps working.

When the server is full

If the server a website is on cannot hold the extra space, the Storage card offers to move the website to a server with room in the same region and add the storage there. You are charged only once the website is live on the new server, and if the move does not finish, nothing is charged.

Warnings before it is full

We tell you when a website reaches 80% and 95% of its disk space, in your dashboard and by email, with a link that opens the Storage card with a pack ready to add.

Which websites can have it

Websites we host on our own servers, on every plan. Each website's storage limit is shown on its Plan tab, and a pack adds to it. Adding or removing storage needs the permission to manage payments on your account.
