domains
POST /v1/domains/{domainId}/nameservers/resync
Point this domain's nameservers at its site — or at our DNS — now.
Authentication
Send an API key as a bearer token. The key must carry the domains.dns.manage permission; a key without it is refused with 403, not 404.
This endpoint takes no organisation id. Your key already identifies the organisation it belongs to, and the response is scoped to it.
Try it
Replace anything in angle brackets with your own values, and the key placeholder with a key from your dashboard.
curl -X POST https://api.zinndigital.com/v1/domains/{domainId}/nameservers/resync \
-H "Authorization: Bearer zdk_live_…"Signed in? The API console in your dashboard fills in your real organisation id and your own key, and runs the request against the live API so you can see the actual response. Open this endpoint in the API console
Details
Starts a durable resync (a Temporal workflow) that re-derives the nameservers the domain's site needs from the DNS provider actually holding its zone, and sets them at the registrar — ours, or the customer's connected one. Returns 202; the outcome lands on last_outcome a few seconds later. A domain with no site (docs/844) is "use our nameservers": when we hold no zone for it (has_zone: false) the press PREPARES one on our DNS with a copy of what the domain publishes today and changes nothing at the registrar (last_outcome: zone_prepared), so the records can be checked first; when we do, the press delegates the domain to the nameservers that zone reports. 409 when no credential we hold can move it (holder none or locked). Requires domains.dns.manage.
