The Zinn® Ads plugin for WordPress

Connect a WordPress site hosted anywhere to Zinn® Ads: conversion tracking with no code, a cookie banner for Google Consent Mode, Cloudflare Zaraz and click-fraud checks.

The Zinn® Ads plugin connects a WordPress site to your Zinn® Ads account, so the sales, sign-ups and form leads your ads bring in are counted without editing your theme or pasting a tag.

Connect the site

  1. Install and activate the Zinn® Ads plugin on the WordPress site.
  2. In your Zinn® dashboard open Ads and find WordPress sites. Press **Make a connection
  3. code**. The code is shown once and works for 30 minutes.

  4. In WordPress open Settings → Zinn® Ads, paste the code and press Connect.

The site appears under WordPress sites as Connected, with the plugin and WordPress versions and when it last reported.

What is tracked

Each of these can be switched on or off under Conversions tracked:

  • WooCommerce purchases (once per order) and free trials with WooCommerce Subscriptions
  • Checkout started, added to cart and product viewed (WooCommerce)
  • Easy Digital Downloads purchases
  • Form submissions from Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms and Fluent Forms

Consent

With Show a cookie banner on, visitors see a small banner. Google Consent Mode v2 starts with ad cookies off, and turns them on only when the visitor presses Allow. If you already use a consent plugin that supports the WP Consent API, Zinn® Ads follows its answer and shows no banner of its own. The ad click id is kept in a first-party cookie only after consent, and is saved on the WooCommerce order so the sale can be credited to the click.

Cloudflare Zaraz

When the site is behind Cloudflare, the settings page offers In Cloudflare Zaraz: tags run on Cloudflare instead of in the visitor's browser. Turn Zaraz on for your zone first. In Zaraz mode your dashboard compares the purchases the plugin sent with the conversions the ad network credited, and says so when they are far apart.

Click-fraud checks

A visit that arrives from an ad, and the same visitor's next ten minutes, are sent to the Zinn® Ads click shield every five minutes and then deleted from the site; anything not sent is deleted after a day. The shield flags bots and repeat clickers, and the results appear under Click shield.

The click shield is free for sites Zinn® hosts. For a WordPress site hosted elsewhere it needs the click shield add-on or a Zinn® Ads plan that includes it; without it, conversion tracking still works and the dashboard offers the add-on. If the account has an unpaid balance, checking pauses and starts again by itself once it is paid.

Visits served from a page cache never reach WordPress. Most caches pass addresses carrying an ad click id through; if yours does not, exclude the gclid and msclkid query parameters from it.

Disconnect

Press Disconnect under WordPress sites in the dashboard, or Disconnect this site in the plugin. The site's token stops working at once. Deleting the plugin removes everything it stored on the site.
