Your conversations, your database

What Zinn® Chat does
Zinn® Chat puts a complete help desk inside WordPress. An AI assistant answers visitors from your own pages and links the page it used. When it cannot answer, it says so and hands the visitor to a person or takes their question as a support ticket. Your team answers live chats from a multi-chat inbox in wp-admin, and customers follow their requests on a support page or in their WooCommerce account. Everything runs on your site and stays in your database, and the AI uses your own key with the provider you choose.
Why it matters
Most chat services charge per person answering and keep your conversations on their servers. Zinn® Chat is a WordPress plugin: the free version has no seat limit, the chats and tickets live in your own database, and the AI is billed by the provider whose key you paste in, at their price. The launcher is about 2 KB and the chat loads only when somebody opens it, so pages nobody chats on stay as fast as they were.

What Zinn® Chat needs
WordPress 6.9 or later and PHP 7.4 or later. An API key from an AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Mistral, OpenRouter, DeepSeek or any OpenAI-compatible service) for the assistant; live chat and tickets work without one.
How you get Zinn® Chat
Zinn® Chat is installed for you on every WordPress site Zinn Digital® hosts. On any other host, install the free plugin, paste an AI key and switch the chat on. Zinn® Chat Pro adds a whole team, a knowledge base and email replies on top.
Installing it
Download the zip
Use the download button above. Keep the file as it is — do not unzip it, because WordPress expects the archive itself.
Open Plugins → Add New Plugin in wp-admin
Sign in to your site's wp-admin, open Plugins in the left-hand menu, then Add New Plugin at the top of the page.
Upload and install
Choose Upload Plugin, select the zip you just downloaded, then Install Now. WordPress unpacks it for you.
Activate it
Choose Activate Plugin when the upload finishes. The plugin's own settings then appear in wp-admin — nothing else is required to start using it.

Questions about Zinn® Chat
Do I need an AI key?
Only for the assistant. Live chat, tickets and the support page work without one. With a key, you pay your AI provider directly at their price; Zinn® Chat adds no charge per answer.
Which AI providers work?
Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Mistral, OpenRouter, DeepSeek and any OpenAI-compatible service. The newest model is chosen from the provider's own list, and you can pick another.
Will it slow my site down?
The launcher is about 2 KB and is drawn after the page has loaded. The chat window is fetched only when a visitor opens it.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes. The assistant reads products, prices, stock, shipping and payment methods, signed-in customers can ask about their own orders, and accounts get a Support tab.
Where are my conversations stored?
In your own WordPress database. WordPress's Export and Erase Personal Data tools include everything Zinn® Chat stores, and old chats can be deleted automatically.
Updates
On a site we host, these plugins are configured to update themselves: they check with us and WordPress installs the new version for you, with the download verified against its published checksum first. On a WordPress we do not host, there is nothing to configure and nothing phones home — come back to this page when you want the newest version, or watch the plugin's GitHub releases.
Need an older version?
Customers can download the newest release of each of the two previous major versions of every plugin in the Zinn Digital® app. It is there for a site that cannot run the current version yet — one still on an older WordPress or PHP — and for rolling back an update that caused a problem. When you can, install the current version.
