Zinn® SEO: Clean-up and control

What Zinn® SEO does for clean-up and control, and which of it is free.

What it does

  • Crawl clean-up — Switch off the extra links, feeds and tags WordPress adds that search engines waste time on, and see the exact line each switch removes from your site.
  • Tidy addresses — Remove /category/ from your addresses, send attachment pages where they belong, keep one www and slash style, and stop comment-reply copies of your pages.
  • Better link previews — Links to your pages in Slack, Discord, LinkedIn and Mastodon show your SEO title and image, never a login name.
  • Smart robots defaults — Password-protected posts, empty categories, comment pages and feeds stay out of search results automatically, and every rule is yours to switch.
  • RSS feed protection — Every feed item links back to your post, so copies on scraper sites credit you. Add the featured image and hold new posts back for a while.
  • Comment spam trap — Spam bots are stopped before their links land on your pages, with no captcha for visitors and nothing added for them to load.
  • Conflict detector — Finds a theme or plugin printing a second title, description or sharing tags on your pages, and fixes the common ones in one click.
  • Dublin Core — Describe each page in Dublin Core for the libraries and archives that read it. Off until you need it, so it never adds weight.
  • Switch features off — Turn off any feature you do not need in one click. It stops running completely, and your settings wait for you if you turn it back on.
  • One-click rollback — Go back to an earlier version in one click if an update ever causes trouble. It is checked first and undone by itself if your site stops answering.
  • No-trace mode — Nothing on your pages, sitemaps or feeds points to Zinn® SEO: no plugin name, comment, file address or class. Made for private blog networks.
  • Accessible admin — Every screen works with a keyboard and a screen reader, in colours that work for colour-blind eyes (WCAG 2.2 AA).
  • Safe .htaccess editor (Pro) — Edit .htaccess or Nginx rules with every line checked first, a backup kept, and the old rules restored by themselves if your site stops answering.

Free or Pro

A feature marked (Pro) needs a Pro licence; (Agency plan) needs the Agency plan. Everything else is in the free edition.
