Invoicing your own clients
Your invoices, your branding, your tax registration and your bank account — separate from what you pay us.
Invoicing lets you bill your clients, on your own paper, and be paid into your own account.
This is not your Zinn Digital® bill
Two different documents, and it matters that you keep them apart:
Billing is what you owe us — your plans, your add-ons, our VAT number, our invoice numbers.
Invoicing is what your client owes you — your business name and address, your tax registration, your own numbering, and money that goes straight to you. It never passes through us and it never appears in our accounts.
Your client does not need an account here. Most of them will never know we exist, which is the point.
What you can do
Build an invoice by quantity or by hours and an hourly rate, with per-line discounts and per-line tax. Save the people you bill so the next invoice is prefilled. Issue it, email it as a branded PDF, or send a payment link that collects into your own gateway. Mark it paid or part-paid, and see every client's whole history in one place.
The order to do things in
- Settings first — your business details, your logo, your tax rates. An invoice issued
- Clients — add the people you bill, or add one as you go and it is saved for next time.
- New invoice — pick a client, add lines, look at the preview, issue it.
before you have set these carries the gaps, and an issued invoice is a fixed document.
Drafts and issued invoices
A draft can be changed as much as you like and has no number. Issuing is the moment it becomes a document: it takes the next number in your series, and freezes your details and your client's details onto it as they are that day. Changing your address later does not rewrite an invoice you have already sent, which is exactly what your accountant needs.
If you issue something wrong, void it. The number stays used and the record stays visible — a gap in an invoice sequence is the thing a tax inspector asks about.
