Arm servers: what runs on them

Zinn® Cloud Start runs on Arm processors: what works on Arm, which add-ons are not available (CloudLinux, Imunify360, Windows) and what to choose instead.

Zinn® Cloud Start runs on Arm processors. Arm is a different kind of processor from the AMD and Intel ones in our other servers, and it is why Start costs so little.

What runs on Arm

Most software does: every Linux system we offer, Docker, WordPress, PHP, Node.js, Python, databases and most web stacks. Choose your operating system when you order and we install the Arm build of it for you.

What does not

  • CloudLinux and Imunify360 are not available on Arm.
  • Windows is not available on Arm.
  • Plesk installs on Ubuntu 22.04 only.
  • LiteSpeed and KernelCare are not offered on Arm servers.
  • Some programs are built for Intel or AMD processors only. If yours is one of them, it will
  • not start on Arm.

The order screen shows only the add-ons that work on the size you chose, and tells you when a size is Arm.

If you need one of those

Choose a VPS or a larger Zinn® Cloud size instead: they run on AMD and take every add-on. You cannot resize an Arm server to an AMD one in place, so move your site or data to the new server and then cancel the Arm one.
