Questions about .dev domains
How much does a .dev domain cost?
A .dev costs $22.99 for the first year and $16.99 a year to renew. Transferring one in from another registrar costs $16.99. All three prices are per year and exclude any tax that applies in your country.
How long can I register a .dev for?
Between 1 and 10 years at a time. You can renew at any point before it expires, and we turn auto-renew on by default so a domain you rely on is never lost to a missed email.
Can I transfer my .dev to Zinn Digital®?
Yes. You will need the authorisation code from your current registrar and the domain must be unlocked and more than 60 days old. We never charge to transfer a domain away from us either, and your authorisation code is available on request.
Is WHOIS privacy available on .dev?
No. The .dev registry publishes registrant details by policy, so no registrar can offer WHOIS privacy on it. That is a registry rule, not our choice, and it is worth knowing before you register.
Who can register a .dev domain?
Anyone, anywhere. The .dev registry sets no residency or eligibility requirement, so you can register one wherever you are based.
