Sell Zinn® hosting from HostBill

Our HostBill module provisions, suspends, unsuspends and terminates real hosting accounts from the panel you already run — free, open source, and no licence key.

  • Freeno licence key, ever
  • GPL-2.0+source on GitHub
  • No accountneeded to download

What it does

HostBill is the other billing platform serious hosting resellers run, and it has its own module format rather than WHMCS's. This is a real HostBill hosting module, not a WHMCS module with a compatibility shim.

The point of a provisioning module is that your panel's own buttons start doing real things. An order creates the account and the site; your suspend button suspends it; your terminate button terminates it. Your client never learns our name unless you want them to.

What is in it

Everything a reseller needs to run hosting as their own product.

Provisioning on order

A paid order creates your client's organisation and provisions their site, with the plan you mapped it to.

Suspend, unsuspend, terminate

Your panel's lifecycle actions drive ours, so a client who does not pay is suspended by the system that noticed rather than by you, later.

Single sign-on

Your client presses “Log in to hosting” in your client area and lands in their control panel already signed in.

Daily usage sync

Disk and bandwidth refreshed in your panel from ours, so your overage rules work on real numbers.

Installed by hand, in one folder

The archive unpacks to includes/modules/Hosting/zinn/ and there is nothing to compile and no dependency to install.

Open source

GPL-2.0-or-later, on GitHub, so you can read exactly what it does before you install it and change it if you need to.

How to get started

  1. Download the module

From our billing-panel modules page. No account, no sign-up and no licence key — the archive is served with its SHA-256 so you can verify it.

  2. Create an API key

In your Zinn Digital® dashboard, with the seven permissions the module needs. The download page lists them exactly.

  3. Map your products and sell

Point each of your panel products at one of our plans and your next order provisions itself.

What it costs

The module is free. There is no licence key, no per-installation fee, no paid tier holding back the features you need, and no account required to download it.

What you pay for is the hosting your clients buy, at reseller rates, and you set what you charge them on top. Reseller hosting has the wholesale plans and the margins; the SEO reporting most agencies charge on is a separate add-on priced for a whole book of client sites rather than per seat.

Why it is free

Because we want you selling our hosting, and charging you for the means to do it would be a strange way to ask. There is no licence key, no per-install fee and no paid tier of the module holding back the features you actually need.

It is also open source under the same licence the rest of that ecosystem uses, so nothing about your ability to keep running it depends on our goodwill. If we vanished tomorrow you would still have the code.

Questions

Does the module cost anything?

No. It is free to download and free to use, for ever, with no licence key and no per-installation fee.

Do I need an account to download it?

No. The archive is on our public downloads page with its checksum, and the source is on GitHub. You need an account only when you want to provision something.

Where does it install?

It unpacks to includes/modules/Hosting/zinn/. The folder name matters — it is how the panel finds the module's own functions — so use the path exactly as given.

What can my clients buy through it?

Any hosting plan you have mapped to one of your panel products. You set your own prices; we bill you at reseller rates.

Do my clients see your branding?

Only if you want them to. With white-label branding switched on, the control panel they log into carries your brand, your logo and your domain.

Is this a port of the WHMCS one?

It does the same job and it is written for HostBill's own module interface. A shim between the two would break in ways that are hard to debug at exactly the moment a client is trying to buy something.

Does it support HostBill's automation?

Yes — provisioning, suspension, unsuspension and termination are wired to HostBill's own lifecycle, so your existing automation rules drive it.
