Index monitoring

Find out the day a page falls out of Google, not the month

A page that is not indexed earns nothing, and nothing tells you when one drops out. We check daily and tell you the day it happens — on your site and on the individual pages you care most about.

What it is

Being in Google's index is the precondition for everything else in search. A page that has quietly dropped out cannot rank, cannot be found and cannot convert — and the usual way people discover it is by noticing that traffic has fallen, weeks later, and then going looking.

This add-on removes the delay. We ask, every day, whether each page you have asked us to watch is still indexed, and we record the answer. When the answer changes, you know that day.

What you get

Two things are sold here, and they are the two that actually cost anything: how often we check, and how many separate pages we check.

Daily instead of weekly

Every Footprint-Free plan already includes a weekly check of the site. This moves it to daily, so the gap between a page dropping out and you knowing is a day rather than a week.

Named page targets

Watch specific pages — the ones that earn — rather than only the site as a whole. Packs of 10 and 50 extra targets are available.

A dated history

Every check is stored, so you can see exactly when a page left and when it came back, and line that up against what you changed.

It says what it saw

A check that could not reach an answer says so rather than reporting a reassuring result. A blank is not the same as a pass.

Works with the rest of your SEO data

Indexing sits beside ranking and authority on the same screen, because a ranking drop and a de-index look identical from a traffic graph.

Any site you have added

Hosted with us or not — this is a question about Google, not about your server.

How it works

  1. Pick what to watch

The site as a whole is watched already. Add the individual pages that matter — a product page, a landing page, a piece of content you paid for.

  2. We check every day

Each target is checked once a day and the result recorded, whatever it is. Checks pause automatically if your account is not in good standing and resume on their own when it is.

  3. You hear when it changes

A change of state is what you are told about. A page that has been indexed for a year does not need a daily email saying so.

What it costs

Weekly checking of the site is included with every Footprint-Free plan and costs nothing. These are the upgrades.

Packs stack: buy a second one and the allowances add together rather than replacing each other. Add-ons are bought per site from your dashboard and appear on your normal invoice — no separate account, no second bill and no minimum term. Prices exclude tax, which is worked out from your billing country at checkout.

Why it is worth the money

The cost of not knowing is asymmetric. Knowing a week late that your best page is out of the index is not a small inconvenience — it is a week of the traffic that page was earning, and the time it then takes to get re-crawled on top of that.

We can price this the way we do because the checks are batched rather than made one at a time, which is also why there is no cap on how many targets you can add. The limit is what you want watched, not what our pipeline can carry.

Questions

Is not weekly checking enough?

For a brochure site, often. For anything where a single page earns real money, a week is a long time to be losing it without knowing.

What counts as a target?

One URL. The site as a whole is watched separately and does not consume a target.

Do the packs stack?

Yes. Buy the 10-page pack twice and you have twenty extra targets.

Will you tell me why a page dropped out?

We tell you that it did, and when. Why is a judgement about your content and Google's guidelines — the technical audit add-on is the one that goes looking for causes.

Do I have to host with you to buy this?

No. Index monitoring works on any domain, wherever it is hosted. You need a Zinn Digital® account, which is free to create, and you add the domain you want watched.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes. It is billed monthly with no minimum term, and cancelling stops the next charge. The history we have already collected for you stays readable for as long as your account is open.

What happens if my account is suspended or unpaid?

Checks stop while the account is not in good standing, and start again by themselves once it is — you do not have to ask. Everything already collected stays visible in the meantime, with its real age shown, so you are never looking at stale data that is pretending to be current.
