White screens and PHP fatal errors
A blank page, a 500, or an error that only appears for some visitors. We turn the logging on properly, reproduce it, and trace it to the line rather than disabling plugins until it stops.
If the site is doing something it should not, or has stopped doing something it should, it is on this list.
A blank page, a 500, or an error that only appears for some visitors. We turn the logging on properly, reproduce it, and trace it to the line rather than disabling plugins until it stops.
A core, plugin, theme or PHP-version update that took things down. We get you back up first, then make the update land safely rather than telling you never to update again.
Two things that each work alone and fight each other. Found by bisecting on a staging copy, not on your live site in front of customers.
WooCommerce orders that fail silently, payment gateways that time out, emails that never send, tax or shipping that calculates wrongly. The ones that cost money while nothing looks wrong.
N+1 queries, a cron that runs on every page load, an uncached external call, a table with no index. Often reported as 'the site is slow' and fixed as a bug.
Most jobs follow the same four steps, and you hear from us at each one.
You do not need a diagnosis — that is our job. What you saw, when it started, and what changed just before is usually enough.
We take a read-only look at the site and the logs so the quote is based on the actual cause, not on what the symptom looked like. That look is free.
A backup first, the fix proven on a staging copy where we can, then applied live. On a hacked site we close the way in as well as clearing what it left behind.
A short write-up of the cause, the fix, and anything we noticed on the way that is going to bite you next. If it is a hosting problem rather than a code problem, we say so.
Who you're working with
Rescue work here is led by founder and CEO Neil Lock, a full-stack developer with around 25 years of production PHP, Python, .NET and JavaScript behind him. Debugging somebody else's codebase is a different skill from writing your own, and it is one that only comes from having read a great many of them.
We also run the platform underneath, with more than 650,000 sites on it, so we see what actually breaks WordPress and WooCommerce at volume — not what a forum thread from 2019 says breaks it.
Where the job is a known shape, there is a dedicated service for it.
Infection removed, the entry point closed, and the blacklist and reputation work that follows.
Malware cleanup and hack repair →A tuning pass on the site you already have, measured before and after.
Expert site speed-up →When the honest answer is that the site needs to be somewhere else. We move it and you watch it happen.
Managed migration →One team, one quote, whichever of these you need — and most projects need more than one.
Custom builds, WooCommerce, headless WordPress, performance work and rescues, by people who host WordPress at scale.
WordPress development →Bespoke plugins, Gutenberg blocks, child themes and full custom themes, built to WordPress.org directory standards.
Custom plugins and themes →Apps, APIs, automation and AI/LLM integrations in Python, Django and modern async back ends.
Python and application development →Full-stack work across PHP, Laravel, .NET, Node and every modern framework, whatever the stack.
Custom web development →A tuning pass on the site you already have — Core Web Vitals, queries and caching, measured before and after.
Expert site speed-up →Infection removed, the entry point closed, and the blacklist and reputation work that follows.
Malware cleanup and hack repair →We move the site here and you watch it happen — or we hand it to whoever is hosting it next.
Managed migration →No. We fix sites wherever they live, and there is no obligation to move afterwards. If the cause turns out to be the hosting rather than the code, we will tell you that plainly — including when the fix is something your current host can do for free.
Usually an admin login and either SFTP or panel access, plus the error logs. For a hacked site we also want the raw access logs. We ask for the least we can work with, and you can revoke it the moment we are done.
The free look happens before the quote precisely so that this is our risk rather than yours. If we cannot see a route to a fix we say so at that point, and you have paid nothing.
No. WordPress and WooCommerce are the bulk of it, but we work across Laravel, Django and modern Python, .NET, Node and plain PHP. If it runs on the web we have very likely debugged something like it before.
Say so in the form and we will treat it that way. If you are already a hosting customer, open a ticket from the dashboard instead — that reaches us faster than anything on this page.
That is the point of the write-up. Where the answer is a process rather than a patch — staging before updates, backups that are actually tested, monitoring that would have told you first — we say which one, and most of them are included free on our hosting rather than sold to you.
The symptom, when it started, and what changed just before it. We look before we quote, and the look and the quote are both free.
