What it is
Migration is the step where most people give up on changing host. It is not technically hard, but it is fiddly, it touches DNS and email, and the failure mode is your site being down or your mail disappearing while you work out what went wrong.
So we do it. You give us access to the current host, we bring everything across, we stand it up here where you can test it on a temporary address, and only when you are happy do we move the DNS. If anything is wrong at that point, the old site is still there.

Moving a whole hosting business or a large estate is a different job with different pricing — see platform transfer. Add-ons are bought per site from your dashboard and appear on your normal invoice — no separate account, no second bill and no minimum term. Prices exclude tax, which is worked out from your billing country at checkout.
Why it is not free
Plenty of hosts advertise free migration and then hand you a plugin. That is a real thing and it works for simple sites, and if that is your situation you should use it rather than paying us.
What we are selling is somebody doing it for you, including email and DNS, testing it before the switch and being accountable if it goes wrong. That is a person's day, and pricing it at nothing would mean either doing it badly or charging everybody else for it.
Questions
How long does it take?
The site is promised ready for you to test within 3 days. The switch itself is minutes and happens when you say so, which may be days later.
Will my site be down?
No. The site is built here while the old one stays live, and the DNS switch is designed so visitors reach one or the other, never nothing.
What about my email?
Included. It is the part most self-service migrations break, so it is explicitly part of the job rather than a caveat.
What if my current host will not give me access?
We deal with that regularly. A backup file is usually enough, and where it is not we will tell you what we need in terms you can pass on.
