Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out what you may and may not do with Zinn Digital® hosting, domains and related services. It protects every customer on the platform, and accepting our Terms of Service means accepting it.

About this policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026.

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "policy") is part of, and incorporated into, the Terms of Service between you and Zinn Digital® Ltd (Company No. 16385785), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. It applies to everyone who uses the service — customers, resellers, agencies managing sites for clients, and members invited into another customer's account — and to every site, application, domain, mailbox and API call in your account.

You are responsible for your own use of the service and for the use made by anyone you give access to, including your clients and team members. Where this policy and the Terms of Service overlap, they are read together; where a signed agreement with your organisation says otherwise, that agreement takes precedence to the extent of any conflict.

1. Content you must not host or distribute

You must not use the service to host, publish, store, transmit or link to any of the following. This list gives examples; it is not exhaustive, and unlawful content is prohibited whether or not it appears here.

  • Child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises or endangers a minor.
  • Content that infringes another party's intellectual property, trade secrets, privacy or publicity rights, including pirated software, media or counterfeit goods.
  • Content that is unlawfully defamatory, harassing, or that threatens, incites or glorifies violence, terrorism or serious self-harm.
  • Material that promotes unlawful discrimination or hatred against people because of a protected characteristic.
  • Fraudulent, deceptive or misleading content, including phishing pages, fake stores, and schemes designed to obtain money or credentials dishonestly.
  • Malware, exploit kits, ransomware, or content whose purpose is to damage, disable or gain unauthorised access to any system or data.
  • Content that a court order, valid legal notice or applicable law requires us to remove.

2. Network, security and system abuse

The platform is multi-tenant and shared. Activity that attacks or degrades it, other customers, or third parties is prohibited regardless of where the target sits.

  • Attempting to access, probe, scan or breach any account, system, network or data you are not authorised to use, including attempts to escape the isolation of your own environment.
  • Denial-of-service activity, whether launched from or aimed at the platform, and hosting the command-and-control, proxy or staging infrastructure for attacks.
  • Distributing malware, running botnets, credential-stuffing or brute-force tooling, or operating open relays and open proxies.
  • Cryptocurrency mining, and other workloads that exist mainly to consume shared compute, unless we have agreed to them in writing.
  • Circumventing, disabling or interfering with the platform's security, rate limits, isolation or metering — including our abuse and fraud controls.
  • Falsifying headers, identifiers or origin information to disguise the source of activity.

3. Email, messaging and outbound traffic

Outbound communication from the platform must be wanted by the people who receive it and must comply with the anti-spam and electronic-communications laws that apply to you and your recipients.

  • No unsolicited bulk or commercial messaging (spam), by email or any other channel, and no sending to purchased, harvested or non-consenting lists.
  • No forging of sender or routing information, and no evading unsubscribe requests or spam filters.
  • Bulk and transactional senders must maintain valid authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC where applicable), honour opt-outs promptly, and keep complaint and bounce rates low.
  • We may apply outbound rate limits and, where a deliverability provider is used, its sending rules also apply.

4. Fair and intended use of resources

Each plan is sized for a particular workload. Use that degrades the service for others, or that a plan is not designed to carry, is not permitted.

  • No sustained abusive load, runaway processes, or use that materially degrades shared infrastructure or other customers' sites.
  • No using a plan for a purpose it is not sold for — for example, running a public file-distribution, streaming or backup service on a standard hosting plan.
  • Reselling or making the service available to third parties only through the reseller, agency and white-label features we provide for that purpose.
  • Where a plan states limits or a fair-use expectation, staying within them; we will always try to talk to you before acting on an overage.

5. SEO, footprint-free hosting and search engines

Footprint-Free Hosting exists to host private blog networks and portfolio sites without a shared technical fingerprint. That is a legitimate use of the platform, and hosting such sites is not itself a breach of this policy.

What is prohibited is using the service for activity that is unlawful, that deceives users, or that breaches a third party's rights — for example, hosting content that infringes copyright, that impersonates a real person or business to deceive, or that facilitates fraud. Managing your own network's technical footprint is allowed; using the platform to break the law, or another platform's rights, is not.

You must not use the crawler-management features to interfere with the operation of search engines in a way that is unlawful, or to hide unlawful content from detection.

6. How we enforce this policy

We do not pre-screen customer content, but we investigate suspected abuse and act on valid legal notices. What we do depends on how serious the problem is and how quickly it must be contained.

  • For most issues we contact you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix the problem.
  • Where a problem is serious or ongoing — illegal content, active abuse, malware, or a threat to shared infrastructure or other customers — we may suspend the affected site, feature or account immediately and tell you afterwards.
  • We may restrict, throttle, quarantine, suspend or terminate access in whole or in part, remove or disable specific content, and preserve or disclose information where the law requires it.
  • We keep a record of enforcement actions. Where an issue is resolved and it is safe to do so, access is restored.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe a site or account on our platform is breaching this policy, tell us. Email office@zinndigital.com with the URL or account concerned and enough detail for us to investigate, or use the contact page at zinndigital.com/contact.

We treat abuse reports seriously and act on them proportionately. Reports about your own account and its content are always handled through your dashboard and support tickets.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform, the law, or the abuse landscape changes. When we make a material change we update the date at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects you, give reasonable notice by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.

9. How to contact us

This policy forms part of the agreement between you and Zinn Digital® Ltd (Company No. 16385785), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

For any question about acceptable use, or to report abuse, reach us through the contact page at zinndigital.com/contact, or email office@zinndigital.com.

Frequently asked questions

Is footprint-free / PBN hosting allowed?

Yes. Hosting private blog networks and portfolio sites without a shared technical fingerprint is a core, legitimate use of the platform. What is not allowed is using any site — footprint-free or not — for something unlawful, deceptive, or that breaches someone else's rights.

Will you read or monitor my site's content?

We do not pre-screen customer content. We investigate when we receive an abuse report or a valid legal notice, or when our automated security and abuse controls flag something. We act proportionately to what we find.

What happens if my site is compromised by an attacker?

Being hacked is not itself a breach of this policy. We will alert you, help contain it, and — if the compromised site is actively harming others (serving malware or phishing) — we may suspend it until it is cleaned, then restore it. Our isolation is designed so one compromised site does not reach another customer.

Can I send marketing email from my hosting?

You can send email your recipients have agreed to receive, with valid authentication and a working unsubscribe. Unsolicited bulk email (spam), purchased lists and forged senders are prohibited, and outbound sending is rate-limited to protect deliverability for everyone.

How do I report a site that breaks these rules?

Email office@zinndigital.com with the URL or account and the details, or use zinndigital.com/contact. We investigate every credible report and act proportionately.
