Where the free line sits

SEO Basics is free on every plan, on every site, forever. That means indexed-status checks, an Authority Score for the domain and homepage Core Web Vitals — the three things you look at first when you want to know whether a site is working. We can give those away because the underlying bulk endpoints take up to 1,000 targets per request, so answering them across a whole fleet costs tens of dollars a month, not thousands.

Everything above that line is deep, per-site work: crawling 250 pages for a technical audit, running Lighthouse, pulling a full backlink profile, checking a keyword's position in a specific location every week. That work has a real per-site cost, so it is priced as an add-on rather than smeared across everyone's hosting bill. You pay for depth on the sites that need it, and nothing on the ones that don't.

There is no separate SEO subscription, no seat count and no data-export dance. Add-ons attach to the hosting account you already have, appear as lines on the same invoice, and switch on immediately.

SEO Pro — the bundle

Five tools, one line on your bill, from $39/mo. Buying the bundle is cheaper than assembling the same five separately.

The bundle runs $39–49/mo depending on the tier you pick. Individual add-ons stay available if you only want one.

Rank tracker — from $12/mo

Keyword positions tracked in packages of 25, 100, 500 or 2,000, with stackable blocks on top. Position history and trend charts, SERP-feature tracking, competitor position comparison, share-of-voice, ranking-URL tracking, alerts and CSV or API export are included at every package size.

Monthly SEO health audit — $9–19/mo

An on-page crawl plus Lighthouse, run monthly, surfacing the technical issues holding a site back — prioritised so you fix what moves the needle rather than working down an undifferentiated list.

Backlink monitor — $15–29/mo

New and lost links reported as they happen, with spam alerts on toxic links pointing at your sites. Built on a backlinks index of roughly 1.9 trillion live links, refreshed continuously.

Competitor intel — $9–19/mo

An SEO scorecard that sizes a domain up against its rivals: ranked keywords, keyword difficulty, estimated organic traffic, visibility and the gaps between you and them.

AI content assistant — $19–39/mo

Generate and rewrite content grounded in your own keyword and SEO data — meta descriptions, outlines and drafts. Bring your own model key through the AI Pack and it acts directly on the sites we host for you.

Rank tracker pricing in full

Four base packages, all on a weekly refresh by default. Pick the one that matches the site, then stack blocks as the keyword list grows.

Starter — 25 keywords, $12/mo

For a single site with a focused keyword set. Weekly position checks, full history and alerts.

Growth — 100 keywords, $29/mo

For a site being worked seriously, or a handful of smaller ones sharing an allowance.

Pro — 500 keywords, $79/mo

For a portfolio or a competitive single site tracking long-tail coverage as well as head terms.

Agency — 2,000 keywords, $249/mo

For agencies and network operators. Includes white-label reporting for reseller and agency accounts, and the longest historical retention.

Stackable blocks, and what multiplies your count

You never have to jump a whole package to add a few keywords. Blocks stack on any base package and are billed as their own recurring line.

  • +50 keywords — $6/mo. The small top-up for when a package is nearly full.
  • +250 keywords — $25/mo. The usual step when a site's coverage expands.
  • +1,000 keywords — $89/mo. Cheaper per keyword than moving up a package if you're already on Pro or Agency.
  • Refresh frequency is a choice: weekly is the default and the baseline price, monthly costs less for low-priority sites, and daily is available as a premium toggle for terms you're actively fighting over.
  • Location, device and search engine each multiply your tracked count. One keyword watched in three countries uses three keyword slots; tracking both desktop and mobile doubles it; Google and Bing are separate checks. The count is transparent in the dashboard before you commit to it.

How it's billed

The billing engine is ours, not a gateway's. That has practical consequences for how add-ons behave.

Entitlements, not feature flags

Each add-on grants a concrete entitlement — a keyword allowance, an audit cadence, a monitored-domain count — recorded against your subscription. What you bought and what you can do are the same record, so there is never a gap between the invoice and the product.

Metered overage, not hard stops

Usage meters rate keyword consumption and add-on consumption, and overage is invoiced rather than silently cutting your tracking off mid-month. Growth doesn't break your reporting.

Prorated both ways

Upgrade mid-cycle and you are charged only the prorated difference. Reduce an allowance and the credit goes to your wallet. Downgrades are validated against what you are actually using, with a grace period rather than an instant cliff.

Your currency, locked at signup

USD is the base price. Other currencies are stored, charm-rounded values rather than a live FX calculation at checkout, so the number you see is the number you pay. Your subscription locks its currency and price at signup.

The data you're paying for

Margins on SEO tooling are only defensible if the data underneath is good and the cost of fetching it is controlled. Both are engineering decisions we've already made.

  • DataForSEO is the primary provider — around 1.9 trillion live backlinks across roughly 187 billion pages, refreshed continuously, plus SERP, keyword, Labs and on-page data from one source.
  • Majestic runs alongside it specifically for Trust Flow and Citation Flow, because those are the metrics operators ask for by name and no other provider replicates them. You see TF/CF and Authority Score together.
  • Serper.dev sits behind DataForSEO as a cheaper failover tier, and Google Search Console URL Inspection is available as an opt-in authoritative signal on verified hosted sites. IndexNow and Bing signals are free and always on.
  • Every provider sits behind a swappable adapter interface, so a vendor's pricing change or outage is our problem to solve, not a reason to re-plumb your reporting.
  • Re-checks are event-driven and cache-first: new and unindexed sites are watched closely, stable ones settle to a lighter cadence, and a re-check fires when your sitemap's lastmod changes or a new URL appears — never a blanket daily sweep. That discipline is why the free tier can stay free.

FAQ

What does SEO Pro cost, and what's in it?

SEO Pro runs $39–49/mo depending on the tier. It bundles the rank tracker, the monthly SEO health audit, the backlink monitor, competitor intel and the AI content assistant into one line on your invoice — cheaper than buying the same five separately.

How is rank tracking priced?

Four base packages: 25 keywords at $12/mo, 100 at $29/mo, 500 at $79/mo and 2,000 at $249/mo, all on a weekly refresh by default. On top of any package you can stack keyword blocks: +50 for $6/mo, +250 for $25/mo, +1,000 for $89/mo. Location, device and search-engine targeting each multiply your tracked keyword count, and daily refresh is a premium option.

Can I buy just one tool instead of the whole bundle?

Yes. The monthly SEO health audit is $9–19/mo, the backlink monitor $15–29/mo, competitor intel $9–19/mo and the AI content assistant $19–39/mo. Rank tracking starts at $12/mo. If you want three or more of them, the SEO Pro bundle from $39/mo works out cheaper.

Do I have to pay to find out whether my sites are indexed?

No. Indexed-status checks, Authority Score and homepage Core Web Vitals are the free SEO Basics tile, included on every plan and every site at no extra cost. Paid add-ons are for depth — keyword positions, full backlink profiles, technical audits — not for the basic health signals.

What happens if I exceed my keyword allowance?

Usage is metered and overage is invoiced rather than cutting your tracking off mid-month, so your reporting stays continuous. If you want to reduce an allowance, the downgrade is validated against what you're actually tracking, with a grace period to trim the list rather than an immediate block, and any credit goes to your wallet.

Can I pay in my own currency?

Yes. USD is the base price, and other currencies are stored, charm-rounded values rather than a live exchange-rate calculation at checkout — so the figure on the pricing page is the figure you pay. Your region sets the default and you can switch it, and a subscription locks its currency and price at signup.

Can I try the platform before paying for anything?

Yes. The 7-day free trial on Footprint-Free PBN hosting is card-free and covers up to five sites, and SEO Basics is on every one of them from day one. Paid SEO add-ons are bought when you want them.
