Sites on somebody else's hosting that you have connected so we can publish to them. They appear in your Sites list badged External and they consume no hosting allowance. Gated on links.view. Each row carries its backup state, so a screen listing a customer's external estate does not have to ask GET /v1/sites/{siteId}/external-backup once per row. ⛔ This description said an external site has "no server, backup or SSH controls" until 2026-09-09. That was true when it was written on 2026-08-22 and the owner ruled the opposite into existence six days later: backups for sites we do not host are a shipped, priced product (three tiers, external_backups). A UI deciding what to render from this sentence would have hidden a feature the customer is paying for.
